Application for Employment

Applications serve to establish an eligibility roster for “Police Officer” for the City of Carlinville. Applications may be picked up at either the Carlinville Police Department, 570 North Broad, City Hall 550 North Broad Carlinville Il. 62626, or downloaded below. All applications must include photo and notary stamp.

Qualifications are:

· Must be 21 yrs of age

· Valid drivers license

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· No criminal record

All qualified applicants will be notified by mail of power test and written exam date, time and location. Power test consists of sit-ups in a minute, 1 ½ mile run, bench press and sit and reach test.

· Starting pay – $26,928.00 non-certified, $29,484 certified

· Paid single health and dental insurance

· Downstate police pension

· 2 weeks vacation after 1 year

· 12 sick days per year

· 1 personal day per year
